Horizon Zero Dawn sequel would happen according to Guerilla Games:

With Horizon Zero Dawn receiving critical praise and high review scores on PS4, fans have started to wonder what a sequel would look like.

And it looks like Guerrilla Games has thought about Horizon Zero Dawn 2, revealing what they'd change if they were to release a follow-up.

Speaking with Game Informer, Guerrilla's John Gonzalez said that the story would be a top priority.

"We’ve been absolutely humbled by the players’ response to the story and their emotional connection to Aloy," Gonzalez said.

"We feel duty-bound to honour the time that players have invested into Horizon: Zero Dawn. The last thing we want to do is disappoint the folks who have given the game such a passionate support.

"It’s been a big project for us and I’m really happy how it all came together. I see a lot of praise for the variety the world offers and the experience as a whole.

"That some parts don’t shine quite as brightly as others is something that was kind of inevitable due to the scope. We are looking closely at any critiques as part of plotting out our plans for the future of Horizon."

Jan-Bart van Beek and Mathijs de Jonge, meanwhile, want to see more weapons and machines make the cut.

"More machines," van Beek continued. "They are a lot of fun to design, build, animate, and play with.

"I wish we could have done a hundred. But reality is a harsh mistress; it doesn’t allow you to make hundreds of machines."

This was echoed by de Jonge, who said: "At some point we had more weapons on the wheel, but the controls got in the way with how quick we wanted the switching process to be; it just got too finicky.

"We have some ideas on how we can improve weapon/loadout switching, but I can’t share anything on this yet."

The latest Horizon Zero Dawn update reduced some of the game’s more annoying story crashes.

In addition to fixing a number of progression issues, technical issues and crashes, Horizon Zero Dawn 1.12 added several new features.

This includes 3D Audio support for 3D headsets, something that is bound to please gamers who have forked out the cash for one.

The other big adjustments made to the game includes improved pathfinding to quest markers and custom waypoints when players are on a mount, as well as boosted performance in several areas in the game and lightmap.

Fans are still waiting to hear more about Guerilla Games’ plans for Horizon Zero Dawn DLC, which was recently confirmed in a statement from the studio.
